01 · DEFINE WHAT MATTERS

Your site has its own milestones.

A pageview is a useful beginning. Give the actions that matter to your product their own place in the report.

1.1Events

Track named actions such as a signup or download. Review event activity alongside the visits that generated it.

1.2Conversion goals

Define goals from pages or events, then follow their completions and conversion rates.

1.3Funnels

Arrange the steps you expect people to take. See how many reach each stage and where the sequence loses people.

02 · FOLLOW THE EXPERIENCE

There’s a story between the steps.

Move from the aggregate view to the sequence of pages and actions within a visit. Find a useful question for your next product improvement.

2.1Journeys

Explore a visit’s timeline of pages and events, with the available source and location context.

2.2Heatmaps

Explore aggregated click coordinates by page. Switch between phone, tablet, and desktop to understand different screen sizes.

2.3Patterns to investigate

Use drop-offs and interaction patterns to identify areas worth testing. The reports show observed activity; they do not tell you a visitor’s intention.

03 · HELP THE SITE FEEL BETTER

Speed is part of the experience.

An awkward interaction or a shifting page can get in the way. Keep real-world performance near the behavior reports that give it context.

3.1Core Web Vitals

Review LCP, INP, and CLS to understand loading, responsiveness, and visual stability.

3.2Page-level performance

Find pages worth a closer look with per-page measurements and the 75th-percentile view.

3.3More loading context

Explore FCP and TTFB alongside your core metrics. Rating breakdowns help you see how measurements vary across visits.

Observe the visit. Respect the visitor.

Heatmaps and Web Vitals require tracker extras to be enabled in your tracking settings. These measurements do not count toward your monthly quota. Heatmap clicks contain coordinates, not input values. Journeys show recorded pages and actions, not session-replay video, and daily visitor identifiers reset at midnight UTC.
